Ceilings and walls, fixed before they're painted
Most repaints in older North County homes start with a dated ceiling or a patched wall. Getting the surface right is what makes the paint look new.
Popcorn ceiling removal
- Test. Ceilings sprayed before the mid-1980s can contain asbestos, so they get tested before anyone scrapes.
- Cover and scrape. Walls and floors are covered, the popcorn is softened and scraped off.
- Smooth or retexture. The ceiling is skimmed smooth, or given a light texture if you prefer.
- Prime and paint. A fresh flat ceiling finish to go with the walls.
Drywall repair and texture matching
Doorknob holes, cracks over doorways, plumbing cut-outs and water-damaged spots get cut out, patched and sanded. Then the patch gets the same texture as the rest of the wall, whether that's orange peel, knockdown or skip trowel, so it doesn't show through the new paint.

Is my popcorn ceiling safe to scrape?
If the house was built before the mid-1980s, the ceiling should be tested for asbestos before it's disturbed. Mention the year your home was built when you call, and we'll go over the next steps.
Can you match the texture already on my walls?
Yes. Orange peel, knockdown and skip trowel are the most common in local homes. When a section of drywall is patched, it gets the same texture as the wall around it before it's painted, so the repair blends in.
